The B20 - G20 Dialogue on Energy, Climate and Environment is an initiative organized by the B20 Italy to raise awareness on the main priorities identified by the Task Force Energy & Resource Efficiency and by the Action Council on Sustainability and Global Emergencies in view of the G20 Ministerial Conference, scheduled for 22-23 July in Naples.
The Dialogue will focus on the significant role that the business community covers in facing the issue of climate change. The energy sector has to structurally adapt to curb global warming, which is at the base of major global emergencies such as more frequent environmental disasters.
It will consist of a discussion of approximately 90 minutes, opened by the B20 Chair Emma Marcegaglia and by the Italian Minister of Ecological Transition Mr. Roberto Cingolani. The meeting will also host remarks by Mark Carney, COP26 Finance Advisor & UN Special Envoy, and by Dr. Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency.
Two Panel Discussions will follow: one for the Energy & Resource Efficiency Task Force, chaired by Mr. Francesco Starace, and one for the B20 Action Council on Sustainability and Global Emergencies, chaired by Mr. Claudio Descalzi. Both Panels will give an overview of their Task Force or Action Council and include remarks on both specific themes related to their B20 work or on international experiences of the speakers.
Among the panelists will be Co-chairs of the Task Force and Action Council and prominent representatives of major Italian companies.
